Shahid Gets An Ultimatum On Farzi

Shahid Kapoor’s marriage to New Delhi student Mira Rajput may just cost him a film. The actor, who had signed Farzi  last year, has kept the movie in limbo for long. After several delays, the film was supposed to roll in June but recently, Shahid revealed that he will tie the knot in the same month.

Naturally, that put Farzi on the backburner once again. Understandably, director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have run out of patience now. The directors, along with officials from Eros, will have a meeting with Shahid sometime in the next 15 days to decide if he remains in the film or not.

Says Krishna of the director duo, “We have a script ready for the last five months. Weve patiently waited for him, while working on other ideas side by side which every filmmaker does. Shahids marriage plans took Raj and me by surprise. Well have a meeting with him to understand whether hes still keen on the project and if he is, he needs to tell us when we could start.”

For those whove come in late, Shahid had signed the conman love story, which also stars Kriti Sanon and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, in June last year. The film was supposed to roll in November but the actor riding high on the critical and commercial success of Haider, started shooting for Vikas Bahls Shandaar instead with Alia Bhatt.

Taking this in their stride, the director duo then decided to shoot Farzi in February this year. But as luck would have it, the film was postponed to the end of May-early June because Shahid once again opted for a Phantom Films production Udta Punjab, helmed by Ishqiya director Abhishek Chaubey.

Clearly, Shahid has toyed around a tad too much with the movies schedule. So will he begin shooting soon? Or will he opt out of the project altogether? Only time will tell.
